Lava lamp, glitter lamp or LED mood light: which is better?

A wax lava lamp gives the slow blobs nothing else does, but it needs 2 to 3 hours to start and runs 10 hours at most. A glitter lamp swirls as soon as it is switched on, and an LED mood light is the one to leave on all night.

Are Lava Lite lamps safe to leave on overnight?

No. A Lava Lite lamp should run no longer than 10 hours at a time, and it stays hot for 2 to 3 hours after you switch it off.

Do Lava Lite lamps come with a bulb?

Yes. Every Lava Lite wax and glitter lamp comes with its bulb in the box: 25 W for the 14.5 inch size, 15 W for 11.5 inch and 40 W for 16.3 inch.

Can a child use a Lava Lite lamp?

With an adult close by. The globe and base of a Lava Lite lamp get hot and stay hot for 2 to 3 hours after it is switched off, so keep it out of reach of small children and pets.

Where should I put a lava lamp?

On a flat surface out of direct sunlight, in a room of 68 to 75°F. Sunlight fades the colors of a Lava Lite lamp, and a cold draft slows the wax.
